Eksplen: Have, Had, Has

Okay, ini tak complicated sangat untuk habitual speakers sebab they would know not to use these things in a snap. For people like us, however, kena ada sikit practice. Have, had, dan has ni penting untuk tengok implikasi masa & perbuatan sentence kita.

HAVE & HAS

Remember untuk present  tense, have kena guna untuk satu relationship subject dengan masa.

Guna have dalam present tense.

Sentence I ate here for two days. I have eaten here for two days.
Meaning saya pernah makan kat sini selama dua hari Saya dah makan di sini selama dua hari (tak stop lagi)

Bila nak guna has? Senang. Ingat shisha.

HE or SHE, in present tense, guna HAS.

He ate here for two days.

He has eaten here for two days.

Sama maksud macam di atas, kata ganti nama je berubah.

Tapi, penggunaan does mengubah segalanya.
kalau ada does, he/she guna have.

(Remember, I, they, we, tak guna does. Guna do) 😉

Have/has + been?

Have/has been guna kalau something happened in the past dan masih lagi berlaku sekarang. Contoh:

looking keys

Sentence I have been looking for my house keys since two years ago She has been locked out of her own house for two years
Meaning Saya mencari kunci rumah saya sejak 2 tahun lalu Sudah 2 tahun dia tidak dapat masuk ke rumah sendiri

HAD

Now, untuk past tense, semua guna HAD.

I
You
He
She
It
We
You
They
Had

Bila nak guna? Bila something in the past happened before a specific time, also in the past.

I had never tasted roasted duck before he asked me to try it.

So you see here, 2 things happened:

  1. You go back to the past: “I had never tasted roasted duck”
  2. You go back to another (unspecific) time in the past where “he asked me to try it”

In a nutshell:

in the past
